Welcome to St Drostan’s Lodge, Glenesk
Situated in beautiful Glenesk, St Drostans Lodge offers self-catering accommodation for up to 16 people in eleven bedrooms with accessible facilities for the less mobile and disabled.
Located in the rural village of Tarfside, the Lodge is an ideal base for those who love hill walking and nature, or for anyone just looking for a quiet place to relax.
The Forbes Room, our function room, is ideal for parties, meetings, musical or artistic workshops, youth groups or yoga retreats. The adjacent St Drostan’s church, built in 1879, is always open for quiet contemplation.
The dark night skies offer a beautiful vantage point for the northern lights or stargazers, and the surrounding countryside provides a home to a wide range of wildlife and birds - the village has a resident peacock who often visits.
Drake’s Pool offers opportunities for wild swimming, and there are stunning walks to Loch Lee and the Queen’s Well, and climbs to the Maule Monument and the most easterly Munro, Mount Keen.

The Glen Esk Folk museum, just over a mile away, offers an interesting insight into the Glen’s history and sumptuous refreshments, and the nearest town of Edzell offers more opportunities for dining, golf, a driving range, and shops.
Alternatively, at nearby Fettercairn you’ll find a distillery, a sustainable boutique and a restaurant in a charming Victorian setting.
