
The Lodge
The Lodge is available for weekend, mid-week or full-week self-catered stays from March to November, for sole use, with no minimum size for groups of up to sixteen people. The Lodge facilities can also be booked for single day or half day lets for events, celebrations or workshops. See our booking calendar for availability.

Please note, vaping and smoking are not permitted inside the Lodge. Smoke detectors are fitted in all rooms
Unfortunately, dogs and pets are not allowed in the Lodge.
Important information
Bedding and tea towels are supplied, however please bring your own towels for showering. Please bring or arrange your own food and milk - the nearest shops are in Edzell, 30 minutes-drive or 16 miles, away. Most major supermarkets will deliver to the Lodge for a large shopping order.
Groups are responsible for preparing and cooking their own food and applying appropriate food hygiene. Please take away all unused food at the end of your stay.
Please do not place any vegetable matter, solids, grease or fat down kitchen sinks! Please bag and bin food waste or place on compost heap behind oil tank.
In case of power cuts, there are two gas camping stoves in the kitchen cupboard. Emergency torches are located in the wall sockets in the sitting room and in the corridor next to the office.
There is a coin operated telephone, 01356 670284. Most mobile phones will now have a signal in the area, and there is a wi-fi hotspot in the village call box. There is no TV and limited radio reception.
We have a library of paperbacks which you are welcome to use. If you don’t finish your book, please feel free to take it away and pass it on once you have finished reading it. The St Drostan’s sticker, will help spread our name to a wider audience.
There are no charging facilities for electric vehicles at the Lodge or in Glenesk. Please do not attempt to trickle charge overnight from our domestic supply. The nearest public facility is in Inchbare.
Housekeeping
The Lodge is largely maintained by volunteers and only as clean as the last group left it. Please help us to maintain the lodge in good condition for everyone to enjoy.
When leaving;

Strip bed linen and leave in the washing bin in hall next to telephone.

Empty the dishwasher.

Clean the cooker, inside and top.

Empty fridges and freezer, clean, but do not switch off electricity.

Please do not leave any food in fridges, freezer or cupboards.

Please empty the urn if you have used it.

Empty all of the bins, kitchen and rooms.

Please vacuum all of the rooms you have used and the corridors, and empty vacuums afterwards.

Clean the fire and re-lay it.

Check all lights have been switched off and all of the radiators turned to the number “1” position.

Please clean all the toilets and showers that have been used. Just before leaving, flush ALL toilets; this keeps our drains and septic tank clear.

Check that all windows are closed.
All necessary cleaning equipment is available in the cupboard under the sink and in the large store cupboard next to the fridge.
